Hiring: Senior Coffee Roaster

Job Summary: 

The Senior Coffee Roaster role in Yardstick manages daily roastery operations, ensuring consistent production of high-quality coffee beans, accurate reporting, and compliance with safety and food standards. The role also oversees inventory, equipment upkeep, and training to support efficient and smooth production.

Location(s): San Juan

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates the drum roaster and produce maximum production of quality coffee beans daily based on client orders
  • Provides assistance to QA Lead and/or Production Supervisor to meet expectations in terms of producing products at the right cost, quality workmanship and timely delivery.
  • Update & monitor production plan with the QA Lead and/or Production Supervisor and ensure compliance to the shipping schedules.
  • Accomplish production reports like materials inventory, expiry of items and production reports 
  • Prepare production reports, individual output and production efficiency and submit to the production supervisor
  • Records movement of materials and packaging items accordingly
  • Responsible for updating roastery production output and batching in production report
  • Responsible for accounting material usage and recording
  • Conducts Physical inventory counting and reconciliation daily
  • Maintains Production-related files and records in an orderly, well-labelled, easily-accessible but secure manner.
  • Conforms to HACCP food safety standards
  • Brings to the immediate attention of the Production supervisor any problems, issues or incidents requiring immediate attention or action.
  • Helps ensure of the highest standard of safety and security of the whole production area
  • Keep the drum roaster clean at all times and maintain good running condition. 
  • Coordinates with the QA Lead and/or Production Supervisor on quarterly preventive maintenance schedule
  • Conducts training to new hires and as needed
  • Maintains a clean and hygienic roastery area at all times
  • Strictly complies with all company policies, procedures, employee code of conduct, safety, health & environment programs, quality management system, etc.
  • Performs other related tasks and activities that may be required and as deemed necessary to the successful operations of the roastery production

Job Specification/s:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering or any science related course.
  • With minimum of 2-3 yrs experience in production and roastery and supervisory role
  • With various training/ seminars attended related to Quality Management and Food safety Management System (e.g. GMP, HACCP, Basic Food Safety, Servsafe)
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strategic and creative mindset
  • Knowledgeable on logistics/distribution
  • Keen to details
  • Very Good planner
  • Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office, Word, PowerPoint)
