Hiring: Head Barista
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Head Barista to lead the floor at Yardstick. You’ll be responsible for guiding the bar team, maintaining high standards of coffee and service, and making sure every guest has a great experience. Location(s): North EDSA, Makati, San Juan
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Disseminate information from Lead Head Barista to all baristas on the assigned store
- Clearly communicate coffee program updates and challenges to Lead Head Barista, and all staff for assigned store
- Helps on Beverage research and development
- Prepare and serve great espresso and coffee drinks and be the Coffee Expert in our store
- Display and possess excellent knowledge of coffees, their origins, their flavor notes, and the various brewing methods, preparation, and presentation
- Be able to engage with our customers and team members about our in-store coffee offerings
- Serves as an ideal example to peers and proactively train our novice or newly hired baristas
- Perform routine cleaning on the espresso machines consistently
- Actively work towards creating a superior cafe experience through excellent customer service, quality beverage preparation and presentation, in-store marketing, and the upkeep and maintenance of coffee areas
- Politely answer customer inquiries on products and services
- Show respect to customer, superior and peers in words and in action
- Report issues on equipment or other factors affecting customer overall experience
- Works closely with the store management team to help achieve sales and profitability targets of the store
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude and respond with necessary proactive actions
- Pro-actively coordinates with store Supervisor / Manager with regards to store related issue
- Maintain and be a good example on all Company and Café policies
- Keep safe and clean working environment at all times
- Works as a team with other team members and help promotes camaraderie in the workplace
- Strictly complies with all company policies, procedures, employee code of conduct, safety, health & environment programs, quality management system, etc.

Job Specification/s:
- Graduate of any 4-year course
- With at least 1-2 years working experience in supervisory position or in a hotel or food and beverage industry
- Excellent communication and community empathy skills.
- Strategic thinker who is able to work across departments.
- Willing to learn on the job to tackle new responsibilities.
- Excellent multitasking skills, critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with good time-management skills.
